DMLS is a 3D printing from powdered metal alloys that guarantees the highest quality. Possibility to print out geometries and structures that cannot be milled. Direct Metal Laser Sintering has great advantages over traditional production techniques, even complex objects can be produced in a single production cycle and thus reduce production costs. DMLS technology combined with topological analysis enables the production of lighter parts compared to conventional manufacturing methods.
The main application of DMLS is the production of metal parts with complex geometry. 3D printed parts are fully functional (heat-resistant, strong and durable). Direct Metal Laser Sintering has great advantages over traditional production techniques. Even the most complex models can be produced in a single production cycle, thereby reducing production costs. DMLS technology makes it possible to produce lighter parts than conventional manufacturing methods. These parts are extremely durable and have a high strength-to-weight ratio. High strength materials such as stainless steel 316L, aluminium alloy, titanium or Inconel (nickel-chromium alloy) are usually used.
Titanium alloy – Ti64 is a light alloy with very good mechanical properties, resistant to corrosion and biocompatible. The chemical composition of the alloy is in accordance with ISO 5832-3, ASTM F1472 and ASTM B348. Material used in engineering, aviation, automotive industry and implantology due to its high strength.
Nickel alloy IN718 – excellent heat resistance up to 700 degrees C, nickel-chromium alloy shows excellent mechanical parameters such as fatigue strength or resistance to breakage. It is characterized by high resistance to corrosion and can be used in cryogenic applications.
Aluminium alloy AlSi10Mg – good mechanical strength and excellent dynamic properties enable the printing of thin-walled, heavy-duty, overloaded parts. These features make it suitable for prototyping metal parts, as well as in the automotive, aerospace, medical and prosthetics industries. The printed elements are suitable for further mechanical processing, e. g. welding, polishing or varnishing.
316L Stainless Steel – a general purpose material, thanks to excellent ductility it is widely used in industry. It is ideal for individualised production and the production of complex structures.
